PHON Software Instrument Design - MAX MSP

I developed PHON in MAX MSP specifically for live improvisation purposes. This application features six identical tracks, each capable of loading audio files directly from a disc.

Each track offers comprehensive control over various audio parameters, allowing for intricate layered textures. PHON is not synchronised to any time grid, which allows for more expressive and unique results.

Additionally, tracks can be routed to effects buses to incorporate synchronised delay or reverb into the signal path. The application supports recording outputs in stereo format or as multi-channel recordings, ensuring flexibility in capturing live performances.
